Benito Gonzalez, the Venezuelan jazz maestro, paints a vibrant canvas of musical exploration. His Steinway Artist status reflects his commitment to merging American jazz heritage with global rhythms. His musical roots trace back to traditional folk melodies, but it was encounters with jazz luminaries Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett that ignited his passion. Joining Jarrett’s quartet was a pivotal milestone, and more recently, he lent his talents to saxophonist Azar Lawrence. In 2019, he stepped into the role of pianist and musical director for saxophone legend Pharoah Sanders.
